MEET BETTY

Betty Thomas has been making a positive difference at Mercy Weight Management Center. She’s one of our health coaches for the Health Management Resources® (HMR) weight loss program we use for weight reduction and lifelong maintenance here at Mercy.

Betty teaches our weekly HMR support classes for the two different phases of our medically supervised weight loss program. Phase 1 is designed for aggressive, consistent weight loss and Phase 2 is designed for more gradual weight loss or long-term weight management.

Betty meets with patients individually every week to review their diet logs and listen to their concerns. During that meeting, she’ll review your dieting progress, answer your questions, and give you the personal advice and coaching to help you keep your weight loss momentum going.

SHE’S A FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

As a certified fitness instructor, Betty enjoys exercise and has always been passionate about being healthy. That fitness background and knowledge helps her educate our patients about how being physically active will maximize their weight loss success. Her motto is "Do some PA (physical activity) every day," and she’s an expert at motivating our patients with fun ways to get out and get moving.

While Betty has a bachelor’s degree in film, she has chosen a career in healthcare because she enjoys making a positive difference in people’s lives by coaching and supporting them in their weight loss and weight maintenance journeys.
